You did quite well, given that we haven't touched cinema vocabulary in class!

Look at Nº 1,4,5,6,9,11 and 12 again.

1. What's the song or the tune you associate with a film?

4. Where do they sell tickets? What do you call a successful film (think video club)?

5. "Overestimate" exists as in "I overestimated the amount of drinks we needed for the party. There are lots of bottles left over."
But the adjective you are looking for means that others think the actor is great, whereas I don't think he's that good.

6. A scene is a part of the film. The word here is an action that can sometimes be dangerous.

9. Just be careful with spelling. "stared" is the past of "stare".

11. You are looking for a hyphenated adjective that means the story seems ridiculous because it isn't believable.

12: Ok. a tiny mistake . Answer: shot on LOCATION.

Have a go at the others again.

I'm going to try again!
1- I love the soundtrack! (I thought that song was too easy but I had to try!)
4- The movie was a huge succes at he box-office. It was the blockbuster of the summer.
5- I think he is overrated.
9- The actress who starred in Casablanca!
11- I thought the plot was a bit far-fetched!

You are almost there!

Careful with your spelling (though I'm not one to talk) SUCCESS!

The word you are looking for is STUNT.

A stuntman is someone who does all the dangerous scenes (stunts) for the actor in the film.

I agree wih you about Tom Cruise. I have always found him a bit creepy, especially when he flashes that all-American smile.

Exercise really difficult because, in several sentences, you don´t give us enough clues to guess it...but, I´m going to try:

1. soundtrack...or song.
2. dubbed.
3. cast.
4. Brand-new opening??? but, I think the correct way to say "Brand new" about films is "premiere".
5. I don´t have any idea.
6. scenes.
7. direct?
8. reviews.
9. stared.
10. stupid....oh, sorry! this is only a personal opinion.
11. fantasy-fiction?

Hi Laura,

The first of Barking Mad to have done anything on the blog this weekend.

Here are the corrections:

Hi Graham, it´s Laura.
The exercise is really difficult because...

1. soundtrack

4. Brand-new opening but, I think the correct way to say "Brand new" about films is "premiere".
Nice try. The box office is the place where you buy your cinema ticket.

5. I don´t have a clue. overrated - he's not as good as people say.

6. scenes (could fit) but I was thinking of something more risky - stunts.

9. starred.

10. Why does nobody like Pe? Her hubby is far more unpleasant.

11. far-fetched - stg that is difficult to believe.

12.

A difficult exercise but you did pretty well.

Now you need to get using the new expressions.

See you in the morning.
